The Carlisle Stormwater Retention System
Carlisle SynTec, with more than four decades of experience and nine billion square feet of roofing membrane sold, is considered the industry's premier resource for single-ply roofing systems. Carlisle SynTec ranks highest in independent studies as surveys in such key areas as product quality, innovation and roofing system technology. Rauth Roofing Limited is a proud recipient of the Carlisle Excellence in Singly Ply award, which recognizes Carlisle's most loyal and dedicated authorized applicators. The ESP award is one of the most prestigious and recognizable awards in the flat roofing industry, and we are fortunate for the partnership we share with Carlisle SynTec Systems.
As a constant innovator in the flat roofing industry, Carlisle SynTec's strong commitment to research and development has resulted in product line extensions and recent innovations in the company's core EPDM or rubber membrane product line, such as the Stormwater Retention Roof system. Stormwater management is a growing concern among building owners, especially in urban environments where many stormwater and sewer systems are outdated and unable to handle heavy rain falls. A Ballasted Stormwater Retention roof system from Carlisle can retain up to 67% of the water from a 24-hour rain event, offering building owners and developers an economical alternative to costly stormwater collection basins and associated land requirements. During a heavy, one-inch rainfall, over 6,200 gallons of water would fall onto a 10,000 ft2 roof. Carlisle's Ballasted Stormwater Retention System using two layers of moisture retention mat could retain up to 67%, or 4,177 gallons. This provides serious relief to local stormwater and sewer systems, while only adding a little over 3 lbs of weight per square foot of roof area.
